1. What does Content is King do?
Content is King is a London-based video production agency that helps brands tell powerful, authentic stories through film. We combine creativity and strategy to create videos that not only stand out, but drive real, measurable results.
2. Where is your video production team based?
Our creative and strategic hub is in London. This gives us a fantastic base to work with clients across the city and the UK, while also serving as our launchpad for national and international projects.
3. What types of videos do you produce?
We produce a wide range of video content designed to meet your specific business goals. Whether you need to generate leads, build brand awareness, or explain a complex product, we can help. Our expertise includes B2B videos, event coverage, explainer animations, B2C campaigns, brand films, and product launch videos. You can explore our case studies (here) to see real examples of the types of videos we create.
4. Do you offer end-to-end video production?
Absolutely! We have extensive experience managing the entire video production process. From concept development and scripting to filming, editing, and final delivery. Whether you need full production support or help with just one stage, we’re here to fit seamlessly into your project.
5. Do you work with agencies, brands, or both?
Both. We collaborate closely with agencies as a trusted production partner and also work directly with brands to deliver high-impact video content. Our flexible approach means we can easily adapt to different workflows and team structures.
6. What is your video production process?
We follow a clear, collaborative 5-step process: We Listen, We Devise, We Create, We Refine, We Launch & Learn. This structure is designed to keep every project on track and aligned with your goals. You can explore the full breakdown (here) for a deeper dive into each stage.
7. How long does it take to produce a video?
Our typical production timeline is 6–8 weeks, but we’re highly adaptable. We can turn projects around faster when needed or work over several months if a longer timeline suits your availability or creative goals.
8. Do I need to provide a script or concept?
Not at all. If you already have a script or concept, we’ll help shape it into a strong foundation for production. If you’re starting from scratch, that’s no problem! We’ll guide you through the process and bring creative ideas to the table from your first conversation with us.
9. Can I be involved in the creative process?
Absolutely, we welcome collaboration. In fact, we encourage it. We find the best results and most impactful stories emerge from a true partnership with our clients. Our process is built to be transparent and hands-on, giving you opportunities to contribute ideas and feedback at every key stage.
10. What equipment do you use?
We use a versatile suite of professional equipment to match any creative or strategic goal. Our inventory includes everything from high-end 4K cinema cameras for polished, filmic projects to much more lightweight, agile setups ideal for creating authentic, fast-paced content.
Our job is to select the right tools for your project's specific needs, ensuring the look and feel is perfectly aligned with your audience and objectives.
11. How much does video production cost?
The cost of a video depends entirely on the scope of the project. For instance, a concise animated explainer video has very different production needs compared to a multi-day brand film involving actors and multiple locations, and the budget will reflect that scope.
Once we have a brief chat about your goals, we can provide a detailed, transparent quote with no hidden costs. Our aim is always to deliver the best possible value and a final product that achieves your objectives.
12. Do you offer packages or retainers?
Yes, we offer both. For clients with ongoing content needs, a retainer can be a great way to secure a dedicated team and streamline production for a series of videos. For more defined projects, we can create a custom package that bundles our services to meet your specific goals and budget. We're flexible and will work with you to find the most effective and efficient approach.
13. Are there any extra costs (e.g. actors, locations, music)?
Our initial quote will be comprehensive and will cover all core production elements we discuss. Potential extra costs, which we will always identify and approve with you upfront, typically include hiring professional actors, location fees, specialised props, or licensing for commercial music. We believe in complete transparency, so there will be no surprise costs.
14. Do you offer free consultations or quotes?
Absolutely. We're always happy to chat through ideas and discuss potential projects. We can, of course, provide a ballpark figure early on, but for a more accurate quote, we typically need a detailed brief, to ensure the quote is fair and accurate with no surprises.
15. Do you charge by the hour, day, or project?
For the vast majority of our projects, we charge a flat, project-based fee. We find this is the best approach for our clients, as it guarantees price transparency from the outset and means the budget is locked in, regardless of the hours spent.
In certain situations, such as quick-turnaround edits or ongoing work, we can offer a day rate if it provides better value and flexibility for your specific needs. Ultimately, we’ll work with you to determine the most sensible and cost-effective structure for your project.
16. How will I receive the final video(s)?
We deliver all final videos via a downloadable link, making it easy to access and share your files. If you need delivery in a different format, such as on a hard drive, we’re more than happy to accommodate.
17. Can I use the video on my website and social media?
Yes, absolutely. You receive full, unrestricted usage rights for the final video upon completion. This allows you to publish it anywhere you need, across your website, social media, paid advertising, and any other marketing channels.
To help you get the most out of those rights, we also provide platform-optimised files. By sharing your distribution plans with us early on, we can deliver correctly formatted versions of your video, tailored to ensure the best performance on each specific platform.
18. Do I own the rights to the video?
Yes. Once the project is complete and paid for, you’ll own the rights to the final video. However, CiK retains ownership of the original project files (such as raw footage and editable assets), unless otherwise agreed in advance. We hold onto these master files to ensure we can efficiently make future edits or create new versions for you down the line.
19. Can you help with video SEO or distribution?
While we don’t directly manage video SEO or distribution, we’re always happy to offer guidance and point you in the right direction. If needed, we can also recommend trusted partners who specialise in this area.
20. Do you offer revisions? How many rounds are included?
Yes. We include up to three rounds of revisions as standard on most projects. When we plan the schedule, we work backwards from your desired delivery date, building in enough time for feedback and adjustments to ensure you're completely happy with the final result.
21. Do you film on location or in a studio?
Both. It all depends on what the project requires. We regularly shoot on location, whether that’s at your office, a specific venue, or outdoors, and we also work in studio settings when more control over lighting, sound, or environment is needed. We’ll always recommend the most suitable setup based on your creative goals and budget.
22. Can you handle international or remote shoots?
Absolutely. We’ve delivered projects both across the UK and internationally, including shoots that take place in multiple locations at the same time. Whether that means having trusted local crews on the ground or remotely directing the production, we’re well-equipped to manage it smoothly.
Remote shooting is something we’ve honed over the past few years, especially during the pandemic, and we continue to use these skills to support clients wherever they’re based.
23. Are your videographers insured?
Yes, absolutely. All our videographers are fully covered by comprehensive business insurance, including public liability and professional indemnity.
24. How far in advance should I book?
The sooner you can get us involved, the better. Early visibility allows for smoother planning, stronger collaboration, and the best creative outcomes. That said, if you're working to a tight deadline, we're well-equipped to step in quickly and deliver at short notice. We’re used to adapting to a range of timelines, whether it be months, weeks or days!
25. What happens if a shoot is delayed or cancelled?
We ask for a 50% payment at the start of each project to cover any upfront costs and pre-production work. If a shoot is delayed or cancelled, we’ll always do our best to be flexible and find a solution. That might mean rescheduling, adjusting the scope, or pausing the project until you're ready to move forward again. Our goal is to keep things as smooth and collaborative as possible, even when plans change.
